If I were to pick one word that has defined the web in the last few years, it would probably be ‘social’… social media, social web, social networking etc etc

Social has revolutionized the way we interact with each other on the web. Social has broken down barriers on the web. Social has empowered individuals by giving them the power of community on a super medium called the Internet.

Social is powerful because, I think, it’s not taking us into something really new, but quite the contrary, it is bringing out something innate in the being of being human: the need to relate, the need to share, the need to socialize!

So ‘social’ is not new at all, it has been here with us for ages! What’s new is ‘social’ on the web (as a channel for expressing ‘social’)
