We recently featured Maneno the content platform with an African twist. It appears Maneno is currently running a competition dubbed “Maneno Open Theme Contest”.

A new feature on Maneno allows a designer to heavily customize a Maneno blog using a ‘Template Development Kit‘. This is a very powerful system and it opens up the site to any developer to add their own sense of style and layout. A designer/developer can download the kit, work on their design, test it in a Sandbox and make it public once ready.

Maneno is giving $250 up for grabs to the best design in the contest.

It’s always great to see African tech companies building platforms and offering ways to program them. There are probably fewer African tech companies doing this than there should be IMHO (that’s a challenge).
