"Let's Play" - Microsoft Tells SA as Xbox Live Comes to SA - Afrinnovator

Google has been giving South Africa some serious attention of late with the recent launch of Google Street View. Microsoft doesn’t seem to want to be left behind and has (according to the Bandwidth Blog) announced plans to officially launch Xbox Live in SA:

Microsoft has finally announced that SA will be getting Xbox Live within the next three months. A definite date was not given, but we can be assured it is before the end of September. This was of course hand in hand with the announcement of the “Kinect” peripheral (called “Project Natal” in the past) and the new Xbox 360, which is slimmer, shinier, quiter and better looking than the original Xbox 360.

    I’ve to confess, I’ve been a huge Venture Natal/Kinect sceptic ever because it was announced with that sham Milo walkthrough and an awful lot of hyperbole. I have been attempting to maintain an open mind but the numerous rumours which have circulated about space, lighting and multiplayer issues have been a trigger for concern. The advertising choice that Microsoft took to place this in the fingers of mainstream journalists and celebrities somewhat than anyone who really has experience and expertise writing about gaming was extraordinarily worrying.
