Sharon Knowles, head of classifieds in the Internet Division at Media 24 in Cape Town took the prize for the WebPR course offered by Afrinnovator and Quirk Education last week.
Sharon submitted this whacky motivation, which won the attention of the Quirk Education team:
WebPR
I am a social media wannabe
Alas, alas I lack the skills of a WebPR devotee,
I Twittered, did Delicious even a bit of Facebook
But came across as spouting gobbledygook,
I listened to my clients
But wasn’t a WebPR giant,
I Googled, I Binged
But I came unhinged,
It was then I turned to Quirk
And felt there was a perk,
It beamed and smiled at me
WebPR would hear my plea,
Lyndi oh Lyndi
WebPR will set me free.
Quirk Education’s WebPR course is designed to teach people how to harness the power of the Internet and apply it to tried and tested PR tactics. You’ll learn how to use the Internet to generate buzz around your brand and build its image by fostering relationships with your consumers in online spaces.
Sharon is looking forward to enhancing her skills, and has signed her staff up for the eMarketing Certification course too. “I follow Affrinnovator and Rob Stokes from Quirk on Twitter and when I saw this competition I thought I ought to give it a shot as this is exactly what I was looking for in a refresher course.”
